Wilson Air Center Chattanooga Go Rentals Announcement
Charlotte Business Journal – 12:26 PM EDT Thursday
Professional Pilot Magazine has ranked Charlotte/Douglas International Airport’s fixed-base operations under Wilson Air Center management among the top 50 in the nation.
This marks the first time since the 1980s the facility has placed in the top 50. The airport ranked No. 23.
Fixed-base operators provide fuel, ramp parking, catering, rental cars, hangar and other support services to private aircraft.
“We are extremely honored by these recognitions, and all the credit goes to our fantastic staff for their diligence in maintaining such high levels of customer service and support,” says Bob Wilson, president of Wilson Air Center. “This level of recognition means a great deal not only to our company, but (also) to the communities we serve.”
Wilson Air Center assumed responsibility for general aviation and corporate aircraft ground-handling services at Charlotte/Douglas in February 2005 under a management agreement with the city of Charlotte and the airport.
“Aviation Director Jerry Orr required us to enhance overall service levels to private corporate aircraft visiting Charlotte for business and pleasure,” says Dave Ivey, Wilson Air Center vice president. “The vote by pilots says that we are on our way to delivering a facility all of Charlotte can be proud of.”
A division of Memphis, Tenn.-based Kemmons Wilson Cos., Wilson Air Center runs corporate aviation support facilities in Charlotte, Houston and Memphis.
